PATRON CODE OF CONDUCT & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
New Guernica s committed to providing a safe and social environment, and patrons are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct.
1. No aggressive or anti-social behaviour
Aggressive conduct is any anti-social behavior. Aggressive conduct refers to verbal abuse, physical abuse, and property damage. Examples of verbal abuse includes using obscene language to staff, physical abuse includes punching a patron, and property damage includes damaging the toilet urinals or defacing with graffiti. New Guernica is a safe space.
2. No sexual harassment
Sexual harassment is any sexual behavior that is unwelcome by another. Sexual harassment includes sexist comments, leering, and taking/displaying/publishing sexual images. Discrimination is any unfavourable treatment of another based on a personal characteristic. Discriminatory conduct includes insults, mocking, or fighting based on a person’s race, disability, sexuality or other personal characteristic. New Guernica has a zero tolerance policy on sexual harassment and discrimination.
3. No intoxication
Intoxication is the condition of being mentally and physically impaired by alcohol or drugs. Signs of intoxication include noticeable changes to a person’s speech, balance, or coordination and there are reasonable grounds for believing that this was caused by alcohol or drugs. New Guernica serves alcohol responsibly and does not condone the use of drugs.
4. No public disturbance
Public disturbance is any conduct that disturbs the peace, comfort, or rest of a member of the public. Public disturbance refers to any noise such as loud street conversations whilst smoking in groups outside the venue, obstruction such as blocking pedestrian pathways or roads, or vulgar signs such as making a rude hand gesture to a passerby. New Guernica respects its neighbours.
A breach of the code of conduct may result in you being refused entry, evicted, or banned from New Guernica, and charged with a criminal offence.
